The Red Eyes Come Out at Night
I suppose it wasn't long before i made it back to the apartment that night. Not long enough for anything to happen, or so I thought. I had only gone out for about less than an hour to the drug store. Had to pick up a few things since Diana had used up the entire thing of bandaids and alcohol in the time we finished moving into this apartment. I didn’t think i had left enough time for anything like this to happen. The door in front of me creaked open slowly from my soft push. The knob and lock lie on hallway floor. My legs trembled as i walked in the shell of my apartment, my knuckles whitened as i held onto the small pocket knife
When I opened my eyes, I saw the crystal waves fade into the sand. The vast horizon laid out in front of me, the ocean calling my name. A colorless moon hung above by a thread, pulling and pushing the waves in perfect balance. The clear night sky brought the light a trillion stars, their luminosity accentuated by the glowing coastal city below. My sight had already returned, but the color began to fade in. Like paint being poured onto to an empty canvas, the stars in the sky glowed brighter in the perfect color. Lavender and Gold stars, a Navy sky, And the Crimson Red moon filled my vision.
The dull thud of liquid dropping to the wood
My eyes burst open, snapping back and forth to the pillow and the ceiling. My body remained unmoving as I stare aimlessly out the open shutters of the window from my bed. The sun had barely risen yet, flecks of orange blended in the rays of scarlet and white that poured into the bottom the horizon. The blinding dot that emanated the light bled into the pastel blue of the sky, lighting it dimly as it rose to greet our side of the planet. I groaned getting out of bed, my body still aching from last night's workout. Sitting on the edge of the bed, my hands covered my face. I breathed deeply, letting the air fill my lungs as I psych myse
Shells of water collapsed from the thick gray clouds above, drenching the land below. Thunder bellowed above, the looming clouds letting not a single ray of twilight pass through, darkening the earth, blanketing it in the cover of Fear. The countryside roads lay flooded with blackened water and crimson, on one dared to walk or drive in this treacherous storm, lest, wish for death. Yet inside this most terrible of storms, three black cars drove on with confidence. Both the cars in the front and back mimicked each other's designs, both being large, seemingly armored SUV’s, with a golden trim outlining the bottoms. Yet the middle car
How many times have I been here, fighting over the same thing as before? As we lay there in middle of the room, broken glasses and thrown papers littered around us. Time is frozen for us, as we are simply trapped in this endless cycle of love and hate; of peace and war. And yet it's where I find myself most at peace, I feel comfortable and safe when we are like this, maybe because being here is so familiar, we’ve been here so many times that it feels almost like home at this point. Or maybe it's because during those moments, it truly feels you're there instead of wondering off in your own mind. Whatever the reason, I feel Safe.
It couldn’t have been less than 30 degrees celsius in the desert, yet the sun still scorched the sand dunes. The high noon rays of light reflected against the sand, giving off a mirror-like effect and illuminating the entire area in a white haze. I gazed into the blue horizon, sand dunes and scarce amounts of fauna stretched out for miles. Waves and contours in the sand ebbed perfectly into the sand, the silhouette of the colonies painted onto the horizon. A sigh escaped from my mouth and I turned to my objective.

The journey to my usual spot in the mountains was always brisk, often enough my legs would burn from the incline as I travel the mountains side. I knew what awaited me each time as jogged through the venerable woods, the ancient leaves fading unto the dirt path. My breath thin, my heart raced with little joy as I neared my destination. The trees bristled with decay as approached the stone cave, short yet damp, the cave led to a quant bench that often times I would entertain. I stood at the mouth of the cave, letting the soothing breeze brush through my scalp, The landscape in front of us now was far different than anything I had ever seen before in my travels. The clear plains of green unsoiled by man, their dew reflected the rays of the setting sun, raging into the horizon, leaving nothing behind but blades orange light which scattered and faded into the darkening sky. Engraved in the plains were a myriad of dirt paths which splintered into different directions, each telling leading someone to a different outcome, a different tale other than my own. A self-educating writer focused on self-improvement and charity. I'm a self-learner when it comes to the things I love, especially writing. Although I've never taken any formal classes or workshops, I feel my writing has steadily improved over the last year. I consider myself very welcoming, to the point strangers will talk to me on end without me really saying much. I hope to find and make new friends as well as improve my writing even further than now. I love to learn so if you have an interesting fact I'd love to hear it! my biggest grievance would be someone trying to be someone they are not, as it reminds me a lot of myself. Don't be afraid to talk to me!
